Promise for future in Jodie Stewart.

A quiet weekend for Valley athletes just gone with James Flanagan 6th in 3K and Clodagh McCool 3rd in 1500M. in the A.A.I. Games on Sunday with Jodie Stewart one of our more dedicated young athletes taking in the U-16 combined events on Saturday accompanied by her mum Tracey and Bernie Alcorn.

Twenty competitors started and Jodie finished 5th with 11.1 for 60m H; 4.64M. long jump; 7.86m shot; 1.45M high; 2.40.8 800m. Technically Jodie can go 9.5 hurdles, 5m. long and 10m plus shot which gives her serious possibilities for the future again of 700/800 points and a serious performance as gold went here at 3133 to her 2466. She will respond we have no doubt and she certainly is dedicated.

A big thank you to club coach Bernie Alcorn for giving her this opportunity.

Well done Aisling Cunningham a medalist in the u-14 girls from Killybegs.

Paul Smith, Rebecca Ward and Mark Bonner are included on Donegal teams for the national cross-country relays.
