Osaka Diary Number 4.
Konnichi wa (Hello).
The days are moving much faster now. All athletes
and coaches on site here about 30 of us. Athletes gradually moving
towards training at race time many compete in the morning in opening
rounds so in addition to getting the head right for early start this is
the warmest period.
Was delighted to log in this morning and see master
results from Tullamore. Well done all.
That completes the domestic
track/field season. So we set our sights on the upcoming cross-country
etc.
Tuesday will be a busy day for me with a tree planting ceremony at
9 am followed by training to be watched by local youngsters and then
athletes to sign autographs.
That evening our hosts have organised a
dinner here in our hotel to be attended by Irish ambassador, the Lord
Mayor and local dignitaries plus ourselves speeches etc.
I am on the
road to Osaka then but before that tomorrow heading to a place called
Izumo to check facilities to educate myself as after the dust settles
on this event I have got to give immediate priority to where I will have camp
pre Beijing Olympics.
Interestingly Izumo is where Ireland prepared for world
soccer cup.
Tossed over so many options need to make a decision could
be here, Malaysia or indeed Hong Kong. Passed the time at a point
today by heading to a museum; I know you probably would never get
me in that frame of mind at home.
I see where Derry beat Harps so it's
full focus on league for them now.
Looking forward to heading in to
Osaka now getting the job done and getting home to the normal routine
of tuesday/thursday.
Got a really long email from Joe Brennan that was
good and all the others thank you.
Leaving cert results. How did that
go? I want to know so come on hit the buttons.
Signing off now. It might
be a few days before I get back to you. I'm doing a Highland interview
with Myles in two hours will look forward to that as we have linked back to
him from all over the world eg Sydney, Cyprus, Slovakia, Finland,
Germany,Portugal etc. Good news /bad news but always a pleasure to
share my story.
Itte Kimasa (I'm off now )
Patsy Mc Gonagle from Matsue City.
