Cricket at Finn Valley Centre
The Finn Valley Centre has hosted numerous activities over the years
and they can now add cricket to that list.
The only remaining cricket club
in Donegal is of course St. Johnston, winners of the North West League
and the North West Cup on numerous occasions, and the only North West
League club to win the All-Ireland Cup --- that was in 1987.
It has been 50 years since the game was last played in the Finn
Valley; back in those days the venue was what is now the Sean Mac
Cumhaill practice pitch; indeed the cricket pavilion still stands at
that location with a few modifications.
