Valley Masters Gain International Selection

The annual Gerry Farnan Cross-Country Memorial races held in The Phoenix Park on Sunday doubled as a trial for the Irish team for the Home Countries Masters International to be held in Stormont in a few weeks time.

Kieran Carlin running particularly well just now led the way to win his O-35 section, and with Jon Creane responding really well he also assured selection in that section.

Particularly pleased was Jon having travelled over from his home in England that morning. In the O-45 age group Dominic Bonner despite an injury worry accounted very well for himself as did James Mc Mahon.

Well done and congratulations lads!

Teresa Mc Gloin finished 15th in the women's race which was won by Deirdre Byrne. This weekend its a 8-30am start from the club centre for Ulster age group championships with the first race 12 noon. Directions to UUJ in Belfast on www.finnvalleyac.com, but be sure to bring a copy of this map with you as the route is not straightforward.
