Donegal Senior CC Championships at Finn Valley 4th November 2007.
Teresa Mc Gloin winds her first senior title
Teresa Mc Gloin in winning the Donegal AAI senior cross-country title
at Valley on Sunday last was maintaining a tradition second to none at
this level since the early seventies when Doreen Gallagher from
Lissmulladuff and now living for many years in Scotland first led the
way its been a great success story at local, Ulster, National and indeed
European level.
Firmly set up for another year with this victory and
leading home a team of Breda Mc Ginty 2nd, Shauna Guthrie 3rd, and Maeve
Culhane, victory was secure ahead of Tirconnaill.
The men lost the title
they had regained last year in Killybegs with their leading scorer
Kieran Carlin.
Excellent weather and a good course made it an
enjoyable day to be out and about but unfortunately it marked possibly
the poorest County Championships for a long time since the event was first
held in 1971 in Falcarragh.
This Sunday Ulster age group champs at Valley 12 noon followed by
novice with an under 9 fun run at 11. Entry 5 euros on the day.
Just
to remark and note that our website had 187,000 hits during October a
record. Full results of Sunday's event with pictures up on
www.finnvalleyac.com by teatime.
