Finn Valley Face the Challenge of 2008.
Finn Valley athletes returned from Portugal training camp over
the weekend. A valuable experience with some 14 sessions in good
weather conditions as Ireland froze. The challenge for these
athletes is to now build on this learning period. Some 20 young
athletes took part in a sportshall competition on Saturday in Donegal
Town. Thanks to Tommy Thompson and Shauna Carlin who travelled as
Managers.
The Club entry for the national B cross-country at Finn Valley
on February 3rd now needs to be tidied up this week. Age range U-11 to
19 for those that did not medal in either Dungarvan or The Curragh.
This Saturday it's Gransha, Derry for Ulster Masters Junior and
Intermediate cross-country.
Welcome back to James Mc Intyre to club colours. James will be
yet another addition as our men travel to Wexford next month to defend
National team title, enjoying as they do a remarkable record in this
event since first winning it in Ballybofey six years ago; and they remain
unbeaten since that historic day.
Also delightful to see Sally Diver out training last Sunday
morning Welcome back Sally.
Mark Connolly (0866022686) has a few available places for World
Cross Country in March in Edinburgh travelling out Saturday and
returning immediately after the event Sunday.
Next club meeting Tuesday 22nd January with trials for U-12 and
U-14 Country Cross Country Relay teams at Valley January 24th at 6.30.
