38th Annual Area Primary Schools Athletics Challenge

It's that time of year again the local and regional primary school athletics. It has proven to be a tremendous success since the early days some 38 years ago when it began at the Ballybofey gaelic grounds and as a result of really positive support from the teaching staff and principals of local schools it now has a permanent exciting date on the calendar. The emergence of the facility that is now the Finn Valley centre has refined the organisation and indeed numerous local schools take the opportunity to have their own school sports and involve the parents a most enjoyable and desirable outcome.

Born 1996  100m, 800m, High Jump, Long Jump, Relay (see b), Ball
            Throw for distance

Rules:

1. Entry fee is €3.00 payable in advance or on arrival each child

2. Children may compete in two events only plus relay

3. Children to compete in there own age category, the exception being relay 
   where the sections are

          (i) born 1998 and 1999

          (ii) born 1996 and 1997

4. Schools are limited to two children in each high jump, long jump, shot and ball throw.
