Relay medals for Valley squads

Two Valley squads made the journey to Irishtown, Dublin to participate in events on Saturday evening.

The mens 3 x 800 m team of Ian Ward, Darren Stewart and Ryan Mc Daid got up with a late surge for silver recording 6.04.07 behind Clonliffe 6.00.00 and dipping in ahead of Donore. This time is somewhat of the club record held by Gareth Davison, Richard Simms and Charlie Gallagher but it's all in the experience of this young squad.

The masters men 3 k team of Kieran Carlin, Dominic Bonner and Drew Doherty also got the silver behind Liffey Valley. A worthwhile outing and now this weekend it's visits to Antrim on Saturday for the Ulster Schools and Sunday for the national league.

Primary schools athletics are in full swing around the county with the Finn Valley area days Tuesday and Wednesday of this week; the finals are on May 28th again at Finn Valley.

Well done to the Valley lads on filling 1,2,3 spots in the recent North West 10k led by Kevin Holian and again it was a marvellous event generating 1200 participants.
