Teresa Mc Gloin Continues To Improve

Teresa Mc Gloin an employee with the HSE and current Donegal 5k champion certainly continues to improve as was evident Sunday morning last in Letterkenny as the Valley club member recorded a PB and club best 16-57 on the road to win the title. She has raced very consistently throughout the summer months at a variety of distances doing really well and now faces into the winter season with hopes of winning the county and Ulster cross country titles and an added bonus would be leading a Donegal womens team in inter-counties late November.

THe 5k ended a very successful road race series throughout the Summer in a wide range of towns and villages in the county. One thought was how many faced the starter in total in the period, one would expect numbers are up from previous years. Full results and pictures here.

Training at the club is progressing strongly and a reminder to all to get their membership fees paid and to purchase a club vest for competition. Upcoming is secondary schools October 1st and primary schools October 3rd. Indications for Wed October 1st are very encouraging as new schools to indicate attendance include Portora, Loreto, Omagh/Dungannon Integrated, etc. So an interesting day ahead. All hands on deck to help on the days to produce a good meeting once again.

Club presentation night is Sunday October 5th, all underage athletes and their parents to attend. Letters will be issued this week while the club AGM is fixed for Monday October 13th, a good turnout hopefully to review the year just gone. Again notices will issue.
