Busy week ahead at Finn Valley
Its all systems go for a busy period of cross country at Finn Valley this week which launches another season. It begins on Wednesday 1130am with Secondary Schools, then it's Primary Schools Friday also at 1130am start time. Donegal AAi even age and Masters at the same venue 12noon Sunday October 5th. It all adds up to an exciting start to the season at local level with an anticipated involvement of in excess of 1,000 athletes.
On Sunday night, October 5th, its back to Finn Valley for the underage athletes and their parents for annual presentation with a 7.30pm start. This provides parents and athletes with an opportunity to express thanks to the club leaders that have influenced and supported the younger athletes through the previous season.
In addition four young athletes, Aoife Whelan, Paula Gallagher, Madeline and Michael Penrose travel this weekend to Switzerland for a walk event.
Congratulations to former Valley lads Kevin Mossey and Aidan Connolly who are members of Tyrone minor panel that won all Ireland replay versus Mayo last weekend.
Finally just to extend an invitation to Women in the community to join with the walking group each Tuesday and Thursday 7.30pm. This group is now well established and would be delighted to have additional members join them at their own pace.
