Annual Invitation Secondary Schools Cross Country Results

Day 2 of the annual invitation cross country at Finn Valley Sept 30th again a record turnout in at times rainy conditions but handled really well by athletes and organisers alike. The encouraging turnout of 426 athletes from Donegal,Tyrone,Sligo and Fermanagh schools added to the atmosphere. Individually Karl Griffin,Abbey vs;Tommy Casey ,Sligo Grammar; Jade O Donnell, Rosses;and Cian Mc Bride,Summerhill; stood out while excellent team performancews from Mount Lourdes,Abbey,Sligo Grammar,Eunans, and Rosses were the order of the day . This event has established itself at both primary, that event having ben held the previous day ,and secondary level as an excellent ' Come and try it ' occassion and its certainly something that could be replicated at this time in the school programme . In total the 2 days of competition attracted close to 1200 youngsters .
