Finn Valley 5k gets Olympic boost

Martin Fagan who this weekend races for Ireland in the European Cross has declared his intention of taking part in the Finn Valley ac 5k on Stephens day . Martin confirmed to race Director Patsy Mc Gonagle last week his intention from his training base in Flagstaff , Colorado where he is preparing for this weekends Dublin event . The Mulingar man an Olympian from Beijing is the Irish record holder at half marathon having broken the great John Treacy s mark in the U S . THe course record for the Valley event is held by Mo Farah 13 -26 who also competes in Dublin this weekend having prepared in Kenya .

Interest in the 39th edition of the race/run/walk continues to create widespread interest in the Donegal community with a target of 1000 participants to build on 800 starters in 2008 with a 2pm start time registration from 12 noon up until race time .
