Valley youngsters and masters perform well in Boyle.
THe top return from Boyle in the masters cross country came from KIeran Carlin in the forefront of the Donegal winning team continuing a proud record for the county in this discipline in recent years in which he personally has contributed strongly, no luck for an out of sorts Dominic Bonner who faded on the last lap but an acknowledgement for him from the national body as he was presented with the Tadgh Lynch trophy for his outstanding contribution to both the domestic scene here in Ireland and to the international masters team annually both in cross country and track . Well deserved .
THe women of Valley led by Kay Byrne and with Stranorlar girls Catherine Brogan and MIriam Bonner on board contributed to a county team that took the bronze . A word of praise for Mark Connolly here who has continued to ensure we impact at this level . Letterkenny retained their masters team title to whom we offer congrats with Cieran Doherty,Pauric Mc Kinney,Brian THursby Phelan and Jonny Patton scoring and mention of Inishowen master athlete James Brown on that winning Donegal team .
In the underage section the under 12 girls take top billing winning easily from KIlkenny in the relay with Leanne Kelly and Amy Crossan to the fore supported ably by Arlene Crossan and Sarah Doherty. IN the under 12 boys Denver Kelly,Charles Mc Daid and Pauric Patton joined with Enda Mc Cormick ,Cranford to get the silver beaten by Kerry . IN the 14 boys relay it was a similar story silver behind Kerry with Georgie Kelly,Oisin Gallen to the fore . County medals in under 11 section for Adam Anderson,Aaron Mc Glynn,Tiernan Gallen Jamie Keegan Aoibheann Mc Hugh ,Nikita Mc Devitt and Ellen Keegan .with under 13 girls third team led by the improving Emer Kelly from Castlederg niece of Kieran Carlins .
