Quiet weekend for Valley athletes

Jodie Stewart, Pauric Mc Laughlin, Emma Mc Sorley, Stephanie Connolly and a tired Teresa Mc Gloin were in action in the Ulster champs at Antrim over the weekend just gone . Varying returns nothing exceptional while this weekend some 20 underage complete the Ulster programme again in Antrim.

In the Donegal Community Games finals held Sunday in Milford victory for Denver Kelly and place medals for Chantelle Mc Grath, Leanne Kelly ,Charles Mc Daid and Karen Kelly.

Over in WAtford Noel Collins returned 3-57 odd for 1500m in a B M C meet.

The outstanding performance of the last week was the 10-32 Ulster record in the 100m from Jason Smyth which ses him go to 2nd in the Irish all time list in this event . Well done to him and his coach Stephen Maguire .

The Summer 5k series continues friday night in Lifford a reminder for all to wear club colours with the Aghyaran 5k the following week. Looking forward to that and supporting Mark who is working hard behind the scenes to make the run a success .

Seperately Patsy Mc Gonagle is in Budapest managing the Irish European cup team. Neil Martin is in Bedford looking after the juniors in AAA champs and Bernie Alcorn is in Romania in charge of a young Irish development squad in a training.
