Aghyaran 5k Attracts Enthusiastic Support

The Finn Valley ac 5k yet another in the Donegal Grand Prix series was this year hosted at the St Davogs GAA, Aghyaran with race director and local man Mark Connolly pulling out all the stops to ensure it was a tremendous success . The event which attracted 216 starters fulfilled all of the criteria for delivering such a race . It had ample stewarding , pre entry, safe road ,good flat road surface and an abundance of food and prizes afterwards in the Centre . Athletics both road and cross country had been staged in recent years in this parish always successfully . The winner of the mens race Cieran Doherty ,Letterkenny a c was out and away right from the go as a squad of Valley lads chased him to no avail while as expected Teresa Mc Gloin had yet another outright victory .

Category awards and spot prizes were presented shortly afterwards and copies of results were posted . An enjoyable evening thanks to Mark Connolly and the Aghyaran commmunity .
