Killygordon Girls Won Gold in National Athletics

Templemore, County Tipperary on Saturday was the venue where Finn Valley AC Athletes Lauren Callaghan and Daniella Johnston won team gold in the National Athletics Championships with a excellent perforamnce in the 60m sprint overcoming the challenge of Ferrybank of Waterford and Mullingar taking the runners up medals. Both athletes compete for Dromore NS and excelled at the local and county finals of the Donegla Primary Track and Field finals in Stranorlar recently.A great boost for coach Ann Marie Mc Geehin who focused and targeted these talented girls and indeed the age group relay involving both girls ,Catherine Mc glinchey ,Zoe Kelly and Aoife Mc Grath . The team reached the final but their inexperience was then a factor as they were disqualified . Thanks are due the parents who travelled to the champs and no doubt these children are the champions of tomorrow
