Finn Valley New Track Development

Finn Valley ac this week embarked on yet another development at their sports complex in Stranorlar,Co, Donegal the laying of a new tartan 8 lane track to supplement the existing jumps/throws areas which were completed 2 years ago . Its a 475k spend at a difficult time but in the opinion of club chairman Patsy Mc Gonagle it was something that the members have been working towards for some time . THe original 400m cinder track dissappeared under the bulldozers this week and weather permitting the contract should be complete in a few months .

Finn Valley have developed numerous facilities on a 12 acre site in the town catchment which include a 800m jogging area ,fitness suite,large indoor hall ,4 real grass floodlit pitches a new main pitch serviced by UEFA standard lighting and expect to add an adjoining further 5 acres to their recreation area in the coming months . In addition they have an office block complex leased on site to the HSE.

Its an exciting development for North West athletics and the club committee and its members are to be congratulated in providing excellent multi sport opportunities which are extensively availed off . Its a case of an athletic club leading the way in this particular area .
