Mc Gloin ahead in Streets of Galway 8k

Teresa Mc Gloin ended her season on a high as the Finn Valley athlete won the Streets of Galway 8k Saturday evening in beautiful weather conditions just pipping Maria Mc Cambridge ,Letterkenny ,both given the same time 27.08 with Siobhan O Doherty ,Borrisokane on 27.21 and Rosemary Ryan on 27.52. This is a significant result for the Donegal champion and is a further indication of her progress since THe June Mini Marathon 10k in which she faded over the last phase of the run in to miss victory . On this occassion it was a sprint finish excellently executed . She takes a break now and then back to log some mileage in anticipation of challenging for a team spot in Euro cross .Also in competition in Galway was James Mc Intyre finishing 7th in a time of 25-53 behind Dublin athlete Rooney 23-56.
