Finn Valley Annual General Meeting

Finn Valley held their club AGM last week and reviewed a very successful year for the club.

In his chairmans report Patsy McGonagle thanked the outgoing officers board for their trojan work throughout the year and also mentioned the strong support base from the committee and coaches.

Patsy said that the continued development of the Finn Valley Centre and numerous achievements athletically had made for a very enjoyable and succesful year.

Athletically he mentioned the club winning the National Short Course Championships and the fact that we had numerous athletes representing Ireland at the International Masters.

Patsy also reviewed the magnificient achievements at underage level at the National Track and Field Championships in Tullamore.

Finally the chairman paid a fitting tribute to committee member and coach Peadar McGranaghan whom has been a pivotal member of Finn Valley AC since its formation in 1973.

Peadar will be retiring from his position as Club Centre Manager after 13 years service later this month.

Addressing the well attended meeting outgoing P.R.O. Bernie Alcorn thanked the local papers and radio for their support throughout the year.

Bernie also thanked her husband Richard for giving up so much of his time throughout the year.

She also thanked finnvalleyac.com webmaster Jonathan Campbell for his weekly maintenance of the club website.

Finn Valley AC would like to take this opportunity to extend their sympathy to former club secretary Maura Reid on the death of her mother.
