Valley Women Narrowly Beaten for Championship.Finn Valley women's cross-country team finished their season with a near miss at the Irish short course 4k cross championship on Sunday in Dublin. They were second (55 pts) to Raheny (51pts) with Mayo third. Led by Clodagh McCool the physical education teacher at Deele College 7th, the ever present Kay Byrne 15th, Catriona McGranaghan 16th, and the constantly improving Teresa McGloin 17th. The men's team finished 5th, led by the returned-to-form Kevin Holian 15th, Pat Hegarty, an improved 36th, Kieran Carlin 41st, and Gerard Bogle 44th. This weekend the club take in the Glaslough series of road races. This was an enjoyable outing last year with a large crowd travelling. Transport leaves the Centre at 11am and costs 10 Euro each to cover transport and entry. See club notice board for details. Congrats to Nicole O'Leary and Ciara McGarvey on their successful Donegal sportshall team recently. They now compete in the UK finals in Birmingham.
