Woodlands, Annagry and Commons Killybegs Top in Donegal Primary Schools Championships

The 36th annual Donegal Primary Schools at Finn Valley was once again a tremendous success with a wide representation from the entire county representating small,medium and large schools. The local organising committee did their usual excellent job. This event which began in 1970 in the Sean Mac Cumhaill Park has continued to grow and throws up not only opportunity for the youngsters of the area but also identifies exciting talent.

Names to come forward were Amber Barrett, Rathmullan; Aisling Cunningham, Commons Killybegs; Ruairi Finnegan, Gael Scoil Letterkenny; Peter Mc Laughlin, Scoil Iosagain Buncrana; Rebecca Ward, Donoughmore; Roisin Ni Chuirreain, Falcarragh; Ciara Mc Garvey, Dooish; Alana Mc Bride, Castlefin; Ryan Bonner, Convoy.

Again the support of the teachers from the 67 schools present was appreciated with close to 1000 young people involved with each receiving a momento and in addition medals and certificates were on offer to make the day special with a large customary number of family members present to add encouragement.
