Woodlands, Annagry, Kilcar, Devlin Reagh best at schools championships.

The 8th annual Donegal primary Schools Cross Country championships at
Finn Valley proved most successful once again with 588 competing in the
various age groups. The added bonus was the excellent weather
conditions and the event was enjoyed by a large attendance of parents.

While the emphasis was clearly on participating it really was never so
important that schools engage the issue of a routine of exercise and an
educational process on healthy eating.

Overall Results.

Large schools (200 pupils +) Woodlands.

Medium Schools(100-200 pupils) Annagry.

Small Schools (Up to 100 Pupils) A draw between Kilcar and Devlin Reagh.  

The local organising who once again did an excellent job were; Patsy Mc
Gonagle, Anne Murphy, Grace Boyle, Christine Feely, Brendan Patton,
Nell Bradley, Brendan mc Nulty, Noel Laverty, Peader Mc Granaghan, Paul
Gallagher, Rosaleen Mc Gonagle, Niall Mc Gonagle, Grainne Mc Gowan and
Eugene Drumm.

It is anticipated that athletic leader coaching courses will be rolled
out shortly aimad at the primary school sector.
