27th December 2003:
The annual Boxing Day event has once again provided the opportunity for the
people of The Donegal Community to meet up, discuss the year gone past and
reunite with old friends, work off the turkey and support a worthy cause.
The damp conditions proved not to be deterrent as the numbers rose to a new
high of a hundred and twenty entrants. With a sixteen minute handicap,
present form went out the window as everyone was in with a fighting chance,
as the overall winner 11 year old Aoife Whelan was soon to prove...

| All-Ireland Gold for Valley in Killybegs |

16th December 2003:
The All-Ireland even age group and Novice Cross-Country Championships were
held in Killybegs last weekend. Finn Valley juveniles were looking forward
to this championship with
defending champions in the under 14 boys in good shape and they certainly
did the business winning the Gold medals easily. A total of 27 medals were
won by Finn Valley athletes on the day in the under 12 to under 18
Championships ... Boxing Day Handicap Race

2nd December 2003: Finn Valley athletes, Senior and Juvenile,
travelled to Mullingar last
weekend for the National Senior Inter-Country Championships and the juvenile
uneven age groups Championships... In the Senior Inter County Championships
Donegal won the silver medals in
both the men's and women's Championships with many Finn Valley Athletes
scoring on both teams ... The Juvenile Championships proved to be a bit of a
roller-coaster experience
with many ups and downs ...

17th November 2003: Finn Valley Masters won both the Women's and
Men's Team Titles at the County
Masters Cross-Country Championships in Cranford ... Individually Kay Byrne
was
in 3rd position in the women's race with Maeve McElroy and Nancy
McNamee making up the winning team ... Dominic Bonner continues his good
form winning the individual title in the
men's Masters Championships and leading his team to victory. Joe
Brennan, Bernard McCabe and Mark Connolly all on the victorious scoring
team... A number of our juvenile athletes travelled to Margate last weekend
to
compete in the Reebok Challenge Cross-country series ...

10th November 2003: Finn Valley men won the much sought after War
Memorial Trophy at the Ulster
Cross-Country Championships in Killybegs last weekend. Michael McGlinchey
won the individual title... Maeve McElroy took bronze in the ladies 3K ...
The Ulster Juvenile Cross-Country Championships (even age groups) also took
place in Killybegs on Saturday... As expected Finn Valley
athletes dominated winning the overall title once again with Three team
Gold, two team Silver, two team Bronze and one 4th team position...

| Kieran Carlin wins 25th Anniversary Inter-Firms |

2nd June 2003:
Letterkenny AC celebrated the 25th anniversary of their Inter-Firms race
last Tuesday and the event was marked by beautiful weather and over 100
competitors competed in the event. Carlin competing for MS Ireland won the
event in a comfortable style in a time of 15.19. Ciaran was followed by
another Valley competitor Charlie Gallagher who led his team ESB home in 2nd
in 15.52... Patsy Doherty, Neil Martin, Richard Alcorn and
Bridgeen Doherty who competed in this year's event all competed in the
original 1978 race... results from
