28th December 2005:
A record-breaking turnout of 230 participants, kind weather conditions and
an opportunity to socialise with old friends meant that two local charities
were the real winners. The large field made up of serious runners, joggers,
walkers and women pushing prams insured this turned out to be the best
charity event the club has organised in many years or perhaps ever. The
response from the general public must be congratulated and maybe the best
way to congratulate them would be to join them next year to experience the
sense of enjoyment, which you can have by making the effort to get out of
the house. A word of thanks to everyone who took part in or organised the
event, including those who provided the welcome refreshments which were
served afterwards. Thanks to Brendan and Teresa Mc Daid for their help with
computerising the event.

1st October 2005:
Although the organisers and children had to endure atrocious weather
conditions, somewhere in the region of 600 youngsters participated in the

were represented from a wide area, from Malin in the north to Kilcar in the
south. A special word of thanks to the workers involved ... results of 35th Annual Primary

The 7th Annual Secondary Schools Cross-country event attracted some 300
plus secondary school students from Donegal and West Tyrone, again it proved
a successful venture and gave an opportunity to many to sample the sport for
the first time. Regrettably the obvious decline in children’s general fitness
becomes more evident each year. The organisers are most appreciative of the
coaches from the twenty four schools who attended.
