A.A.I Half Marathon Sunday 31st August 2003

The National Half Marathon will take place this year on Sunday 31st August in Dungarvan hosted by West Waterford AC who have secured a major sponsorship with Blackwater Homes.

"The Course chosen takes in Dungarvan Bay with beautiful scenic views and is flat and well surfaced. The half marathon will be based around St Augustines College, a venue familiar to anyone who has attended any of the many National Cross Country Championships staged there over the years.

As well as the National Championship, the race incorporates a fun run with substantial goodie-bag, T-shirt, and commemorative medal to all finishers. In addition, the first three men and women home will be awarded a commemorative piece of Waterford Crystal as well as receiving national medals. This is to acknowledge the holding of the event in the Crystal County. A full catering crew will be on hand to look after the hungry participants after the race and plenty of physios are lined up to look after those tired legs."
