International Victory for Clodagh and Catriona

Congratulations to club athletes Clodagh McCool and Catriona McGranaghan who were members of the Irish Women's team which won the Eikiden Road Relay in Brussels last weekend. Ireland won the event ahead of Belgium in 2nd place and Scotland in 3rd. This was a fantastic achievement for the Irish team and we are proud of our athletes' valuable contribution to this great victory.

National 10K Road Championships

Our men's masters team continue their great season with a victory in the National Masters 10K in Sligo last weekend. The scoring team was James McMahon who had a brilliant run to finish 2nd individual in the over 40 section in a time of 32.14 with Dominic Bonner also having an excellent run finishing 3rd in the over 40 section in a time of 32.37 and a strong performance from Joe Brennan in 35.33 completed the gold medal winning team. Bernard McCabe, 36.44, Mark Connolly 37.17 and Seanie McDevitt 42.57 also ran very well.

Kay Byrne had a fantastic run winning the over 40 section in an excellent time of 38.08 with her team of Mary Martin -- 2nd in the over 50 category and Mary Bond running well to finish in 4th place.

Charlie Gallagher was our leading runner in the Senior men's section with a very good run in 5th place in a time of 31.47, leading his team to 5th place also. Kevin Holian 18th also coming back into good form in a time of 32.44 and Pat McElroy 58th 35.47 completed the scoring team.

Teresa McGloin ran well in the Senior women's section in a time of 45.46.

Sportshall Athletics

The Sportshall Athletics finals were held in Birmingham last weekend with very good performances from Laura Feely 4th in the Shot, Lorcan McMenamin 4th in the High Jump equalling his p.b. of 1.50m and Shane Bonner in the relay. Well done also to Christine Feely who was the manager of the U13 girls team.

Training

Training continues for all athletes on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 10.30 a.m.
