Clodagh McCool wins 3K

Congratulations to Clodagh McCool who won the women's 3K road race in Letterkenny on Sunday. This is the 2nd running of this event organised by Grace Boyle to raise funds for the Donegal Hospice.

Clodagh had a busy weekend having attended the National Cross-Country Squad training session in Limerick University on Saturday as did Nikki Alcorn, Pauric Feely and Maeve Culhane who were invited to attend the 2nd meeting of the Academy of Irish Athletics. The long trip to Limerick proved very worthwhile with excellent training sessions had by all. Club coaches coaching at the National Squad day and Academy were Patsy McGonagle, Neil Martin and Bernie Alcorn.

Donegal Uneven ages Juvenile and Novice Cross-Country Championships

The uneven ages and Novice County Cross-Country Championships will be held in Killybegs on Sunday, 3rd October. The bus will be leaving the Finn Valley Centre at 10.00 a.m. sharp. The club will be defending their title of overall County Champions as well as many individual and team championships.

Awards Night

On Sunday night the club will be hosting their Annual Juvenile Awards night at the Finn Valley Centre at 7.00 p.m. when all club athletes who won National Championship medals over the previous 12 months will have their achievements acknowledged. It is very important that parents/guardians of all our juvenile athletes attend the celebrations as we have had one of our most successful years ever in Cross-Country, Indoors and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Sympathy

The club wishes to extend sincere sympathy to Drew Doherty on the death of his mother.

Bernie Alcorn, P.R.O.
