CATRIONA Devine, a star of Finn Valley AC’s eight-in-a-row Irish senior cross country teams in the 1990s, rolled the years back at the 2021 National Master Championships in Santry.

The Castlefin woman showed all of the old resolve and character to edge out Geraldine Fahey from Ennis Track AC.

Finn Valley AC’s Noreen Bonner also took a pair of golds, winning the W65 800m and 1500m races.

Finn Valley AC’s Brian Ó Domhnaill won silver in the M40 5k walk. Ó Domhnaill finished in 25:17.3 and was beaten to gold by David Kidd’s 24:52.8.

Former Finn Valley AC star Danea Herron - the 1984 and 1984 Irish heptathlon champion - won the W60 javelin with a 19.12m effort. Herron is now in the colours of City of Derry Spartans.
