Day 2 of the European Championships

Unfortunately for his Valley club athlete Tori Pena she missed out on a final spot early morning by 5 cms clearing 4.35m needing as it emerged 4.40m . A solid attempt at opening heights proved no problem and indeed moving up to 4.35 this height on round 3 narrowly hit the bar and it was over . Just in from U S a few days earlier and coping with both the breeze and for her cold unfamilar conditions . No excuses from her and now both return at championship end Sunday to Ireland for the national senior champs the following weekend and on to London for Olympic Games .
