Fermanagh Athletes Achieving with Finn Valley

Angela Speight and her mum Marie T are now competing  on a regular basis with FVAC with Angela coming 5th Sen  in Enniskillen 5k on Fri night after a good run in Killybegs last week. Likewise her mum had a 3rd place category placing on Friday and a solid run last week.   James another member of the Family had a great year last year winning Irish schools title  picking up National medals and is now doing well @ College in the States. Kelly Ann is in Africa for six months and hopes to get back to local competition on return. a sporting family indeed.  Mark Hoy a prominent athlete during his days at St Michaels , Enniskillen has made great progress in his first year and is now making top 3 in Senior events. His dedication to training is becoming very evident. Top 3 in Ulster Novice last week followed by winning the Enniskillen 5k this week shows he is getting stronger and no doubt will improve on his 1.55   800m pb which he got back at the  National  Seniors in Santry. He is now a student at UUJ . Cathal O Connor again joined Finn Valley and along with Mark Hoy helped the Valley team to win the 4 x 400m u23 relay in Tullamore last June before running 1.53   800m in Chester Seniors. This last weekend he broke 16 minutes for the first time finishing 2nd in a 5k near Liverpool with a time of 15.52. Joining a Senior club has proved beneficial to these athletes and they have settled in very well to the Challenge and will build on the success they have had so far.
