Finn Valley ac Excell National Junior u23 Champs

It began early Arlene Crossan had a frustrating outing at recent Irish Schools but within the last 7 days has turned her season around a strong performance in France last weekend and today banged out a 400mh in in 61.08 inside European Q mark hence the joy of the  title and no doubt selection and the opportunity to run pb performances .

The Kelly lads from St Johnstone have been bringing titles indeed records home for years but it gets more meaningful in ways as they get older still motivated still out in front .

Today John selected midweek for European u 23 won the shot and younger brother James nailed the junior title remember he has 2 more years elegibility at this age division . In that u 23 shot Gavin Mc Laughlin ,Convoy second to his training partner John and a bronze later in discus , Staying with throws Jade Leeper early in the day bronze shot and later in afternoon silver discus . Her response 'I'm happy now' . Dylan Kearns a dedicated young man whose discipline is javelin 50.66 for bronze junior comp. A nice encouraging story that of Jessica Roberts back in the sport after a period away the Lyit student taking the 1500m u 23 . Ian Brennan has been involved with FVac for years went off to University and has come to terms with the change in fine form today accompanied by his parents wins triple 13.06 and 6.66m gets him bronze long jump . Janine Boyle Leaving Cert now behind her a wee panic midweek with sickness but excellent response and attitude delivered a bronze 100m 11,96 and certainly also puts her in consideration territory for European junior .

And as the day ended 2 very exciting performances over 400m from Shane Irwin ,Ramelton a silver in 400m worked hard over last 100m for it and that lists him on European champ. team plus another Lyit student ,there were 5 Lyit students in medals here , Simon Archer 200m silver u 23  and thus ended an encouraging day a day where the coach contribution came from 6 coaches John Kelly, Shauna Carlin ,Mark Connolly ,Mary and Bernie O Callaghan ,Martin Leeper and Adrian Lecky to whom we owe a big shout out . Add in the travelling support those plus who officiated Dermot Mc Granaghan ,Neil Martin and Tom Thompson and it simply underlines the commitment at every level from FVAC

Tomorrow Sunday its National Masters and we await further good news stories from Tullamore once again
