Five Valley Teams Bound for Nationals

Finn Valley Centre and the adjoining lands was the venue for the Ulster uneven age group and novice champs. Sunday a true cross country course made a little more difficult due to recent weather conditions but superbly prepared so all was set 11 am 12 races on offer all with a Finn Valley ac interest and a total overall of 1100 approx chasing honours ,a large crowd had gathered and in the final analysis 5 Valley teams qualifying for nationals due in Waterford December . Victory for u 11 boys and girls , top 3 Q spots for u 13 and u 15 girls where Sarah Bradley the young Loreto Letterkenny girl  student once again excelled 4th team placing for u 13 boys and a great u 19 boys team victory with Ben Carr, Eoghan Bradley, Karol Mc Ginley and Convoy native Oran O Donnell scoring bringing joy to long time coach at Finn Valley Peader Mc Granaghan . THe other standout performance came from Deele College student Oisin Toye 3rd u 15 boys a young boy who is continuing to progress and impact .

THe highlight in the novice champs was a ding dong team battle involving Milford Finn Valley and Derry Track Club pushing for gold and it went to the line Valley losing out on a team victory by a point to a resilient Milford squad just in final 300m but a good old fashioned battle none the less . That team Leoni Mullen ,Joanne Campbell and Donegal champion Jessica Roberts . The Valley men led by John Mc Fadden 5th team the team victory to a strong Letterkenny squad .

THis weekend the club has 3 athletes on international duty with Ireland in masters suitably being staged in Derry Saturday . They are Dermot Mc Elchar ,Kay Byrne and Noreen Bonner we wiswh them well while on Sunday its Remembrance 10k 11 am back at Valley Cenntre once again .
