International Masters Success awards and Remembrance 10k

Another hectic weekend in the life of Finn Valley ac . Big news from Swansea with Teresa Mc Gloin winning the British and Irish Masters x country title an impressive run that saw her see off her English opposition over the last 1k to record what is a little bit of Donegal athletics history a win at this level being significant . Her Irish team which included Catriona Devine  grabbed the silver behind England .Kay Byrne Noreen Bonner on age category teams helped Ireland into team positions and all the Finn Valley women expressed delight with their runs on what was a most enjoyable outing . Barry Harron from Castlefinn was on the mens team but had to withdraw with an injury but late call up for Kieran no stranger to the international scene maintained additional interest and while he didn't score on a medal winning squad he will be well encouraged to be in this international environment playing his bit . 10 Donegal athletes gained selection for this meet other medal winners as part of the team story were Martin Kerr MIlford and Emer Mc Gee Rosses .
Friday night was Ulster Athletics council awards evening in Monaghan with Patsy Mc Gonagle the Hall Of Fame recipient Sommer Lecky female field athlete of year international recognition award for Brendan Boyce and underage awards for Aine Wilkinson ,Riona Doherty and Ben Carr . Well one all .
