John Kelly

This simply indicates that the young St Johnstone youth continues to improve and indeed handle the mantle of favourite and deliver no mean feat at times . John also collected the silver in javelin at 447.58m a little below par btno doubt he plans on a 50m plus mark shortly . Other results were Jade Leeper a student at Ballinamore V S 4th in both discus and shot and will be presented with another opportunity to medal come Tailteann Games . Shaun Woods 5th with 50.40 a pb from lane 8 he will be disappointed despite the pb as another Ulster lad got up for 2nd . But he loses down on a sub 50 so important . It was an excellent day for Abbey V S and well done to them with a variety of medals and best school inter girls.

Mark Hoy finished 3rd to continue a good season in ULster senior 800m at Antrim Monday.
We note the death of Gerry Mc Donnell from Strabane a lifelong advocate and tireless worker for athletics a former secretary of Ulster athletics for in excess of 30 years . A gentleman in every respect he passed away Monday . May he rest in peace

Next wekend its Ulster U- 9,10,11,12,13 at Shercock ,Co Cavan with a 10am SSStart Saturday . The club have 71 entered so a busy day ahead.
