Masters Rule


Its July 2nd the turn of the clubs Master athletes to have a go an aspect of the sport growing in popularity and really in many respects a strong indication of the output of a club when you are involvede in absolutely every aspect of the sport on this occassion Masters Nationals .

Again it was to be a successful enjoyable day good club turnout good spirit prevailing and early on in the case of Sinead Mc Connelll not just a win but a 3k walk pb and national record 15.36 . and just shortly after Brian O Domhnaill 5k victory in walk . Bosco Reid was to record 2 outright victories shot and hammer the former most satisfying ad medals in javelin and discus.

Relay medals 4 x 4 women Sinead plus Ita Kelly ,Sinead Kenny and LInda Emery and the men with newcomer John O Brien on board . Kay Byrne ,Noreen Bonner and Ita Kelly picked up middle distance medals.


But one of the  the absoluite performances of the day came from Kieran Carlin 800m gold a gritty class run . Isabella Breslin gold in the 100mh and silver high and Shane Mc Nulty a silver 1500m nothing wrong with this mans attitude .
