National Volunteer award for Peader - Farmleigh House Dublin

 

Castlefinn native Peadar Mc Granaghan was presented with his  National Award  for Volunteers in Sports at Farmleigh House Dublin. The awards were presented by the Federation of Irish Sports in conjunction with the EBS, in total 32 National Awards were presented on the day, with the Donegal Volunteer in Sports award being made Peadar for his lifetime support of athletics and sports particularly for his trojan work and total dedication towards Finn Valley Athletics, where he has been a constant stalwart for many years.

 

The National Awards are held annually to recognise the 450,000 volunteers that each week give of their time in assisting sporting and physical activity throughout the country. Peadar has given generously of his time and for many years has played a key role in the Finn Valley Athletics Club and Centre , this award for Peadar is justified and a well-deserved recognition of a lifetimes commitment to the sporting activities in Co Donegal.

 

Present at the awards were Peadar, his wife Sadie ,their son Dermot and Patsy Mc Gonagle of Finn Valley Athletics along with Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher Leas Cheann Comhairle
