NINE FINN VALLEY AC teams will travel to Gowran, Co Kilkenny this Sunday for the Irsih Life Health National Novice and Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships.

Doherty was the lead runner for his team, Liverpool Harriers, at Sefton Park and will be in Gowran to help out a strong Donegal team in their pursuit of medals in Kikenny.

Doherty finished Saturday’s race, over 10k, in 32:01.

In previous weeks, he was the silver medalist at the recent Donegal Cross Country Championships and took bronze at the Ulster Novice Cross Country Championships, both of which were held in Stranorlar.

The Finn Valley AC Fit4Life Group held a Relay For Concern on Monday night with around 50 participants. This is one of two fundraisers for the charity with a Mile For Concern to food this month before Christmas, also on the track at Finn Valley.

The St Stephen’s Day 5k will again take place this year, starting at 12 noon.

This popular community event has been a big inclusion in the calendar over the years. Registration online has opened and participants are urged to use this medium to enter.
