Scrap Book from Early 1970's

It was far from tuxedos and black ties we were reared but somehow its so appropriate that we Finn Valley A C have gone that extra mile to put on a show to remember . Those that have put this together Kieran,Dermot ,Ann Marie ,Bridgeen and Rosaleen and the others that have pushed tickets well done .

So we count down and thanks to Evelyn Mc Geehin (  nee O Donnell ) that has given us a scrap book this week  put together, by her Mum and Dad Manus and Eileen, to study of the early period . In those days it was so normal to each week cut out any reference to club activities and this they did . Further to that this week a great record of the early days has been received from Bridgeen Doherty ( Houston ) some mighty stuff and we will visit that in the weeks ahead . So thank u Manus and Eileen and daughter Evelyn really delighted to receive any archive stuff all part of the story of  the 40 years . So if anyone is still dithering over whether or not they are coming Friday night come on in and join us .

Sunday night its young athletes awards night 7pm normal routine a family occassion which the young ones love as many as 350 attending in 2010 but vital that athletes are accompanied by parents / grandparents etc no dropping children off and leaving it to others as the key is adults acknowledging the younger acheivers . All should be homeward bound 9pm .
Bernie O callaghan launches his books on the history of Donegal athletics on Saturday 3pm and extends an open invitation to the event to be held in the Clock Tower ,Fintragh .

Additionally the Finn Valley Stephens Day 5k has been launched and participants are invited to raise funds for the charity of their choice on this occassion once again . At a time when record numbers are jogging/walking / running a large crowd is expected . Its 2pm Stephens Day enter on the day .
