Walk Success for Valley Athletes

Its been a relatively quiet weekend on the domestic athletics front but a small group of Finn Valley athletes travelled early Saturday morning to compete in the annual Aai walks meet on this occassion in the ideal course in St Annes Park Raheny over a road distance of 5k .

Sinead Mc Connell who had a record breaking 2017 at masters level responded once again with a pb 16.59 and newcomer Margaret adapting really well to this new discipline 30.27 both top 3 and encouraged by this test of fitness at this time before indoor competition kicks in March 
Brian O Domhnaill was out in front mens masters 24.52 which sets him up to prepare in 2018 for world masters in Spain May time. 
Internationally Ireland drew a blank at European cross but encouraging returns by a few of the  US vased athleres certainly underlines the relevance of the US scene 
Next weekend its national novice and national uneven age x country in Waterford with the  47th annual Stephens Day 5k 12 noon at Finn Valley ac .
